2008-2009 Executive Council

The Executive Council (EC) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the GSA. The EC is composed of a Chair, External Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations Officer and Campus Organizing Director, all of which serve a one year term beginning July 1. The Graduate Student Assistant to the Dean and Chancellor serves as a ex officio, non-voting member of the EC. As executive officers of the GSA, the EC administers all programs, events, and meetings of the Assembly. The Assembly in turn reviews all actions of the Executive Council and is responsible for disseminating all information presented at the meetings to their constituents.

The GSA Office Manager works under the direction of the EC and implements many programs.

Malaika Singleton is a newcomer to the GSA in her role as GSA Vice Chair, but has been involved in the wider campus community. She was elected to serve as chair for the rest of our academic year, in February.

Karinna was elected in February to fill the role of Vice Chair. She previously served as PRO for the GSA in the 2007-2008 academic year.

Marrah Lachowicz has taken on the role of External Chair, after completing her term as Secretary the previous year. Marrah serves as the Western Regional Legislative Chair for NAGPS and serving as the CIO/Secretary for NAGPS.

Margaret Cayward has represented the Music Department in the Assembly. This is her first term as Secretary.
