IGPS Submission Information
Here are descriptions of the submission categories
How Do I Apply?
To participate, apply to the symposium by submitting applications via the Smartsite portal:
https://smartsite.ucdavis.edu. Log in, then click “Membership” on the left hand panel. Now search for “2013 IGPS Abstracts” in the Joinable Sites. In the resource folder you will find further forms and instructions. There are four different categories for submission:
1. Oral/Poster Presentation.
The format for submission is an abstract (1250 character max) and a statement of research significance contribution. Think, why is this important to others, even outside my field.
2. Art Exhibit or Performance.
The format for submission is an academic description (2000 characters max). Think, how do you use your art to make a statement? What does it say? What are the themes? How was the work created?
3. Graduate Student Organized Session.
The format for submission is a session description (2000 characters max). Think, what topics are you going to cover, in what format?
4. Interdisciplinary Paper Submission
The format for submission is an abstract (1250 characters max) and an interdisciplinary description. A completed paper will be due before the symposium. Paper submissions must incorporate interaction among two or more different disciplines that may range from simple communication of ideas to the mutual integration of organizing concepts, methodology, procedures, epistemology, terminology, data and organization of research and education in a fairly large field.
