Adam Costanzo is the 2009-2010 Campus Organizing Director.

September 2009
This September we put into motion a brand new activity for grads, Yoga for Grads. That class filled up nice and quickly. The teacher is even considering adding another class.

October 2009
The Yoga for Grads class is off and running. The class looks like it will be a hit. Beyond that I am gathering registration info for a few new pages on the wiki. That info can be found at the Registration page. I also posted a few sweet deals from Microsoft for Windows 7 and Office 07 Ultimate on our new OMG Savings! page. Finally, I am starting work on the Fall Food Drive. Look out for more info about when you can donate to the Food Bank of Yolo County.

November 2009
This month I completed gathering info for the Registration pages. Also, the Food Drive is all set for the first week in December. We will be collecting food and donations at the General Assembly Meeting on the 3rd, the Pizza Night on the 4th and Bagel Day on the 5th. I handed out several hundred fliers for the drive at the last Bagel Day in November. I am also starting work on organizing the Winter version of Yoga for Grad Students and the winter trip or trips with Outdoor Adventures. Hopefully all of that will get finalized in December. Finally, I've been working in the GSA office trying to clear out a great big pile of e-waste and to set up a new printer for the office.

December 2009
During the first week in December the GSA held a Food Drive at three of its larger events. Grads at the General Assembly meeting, Pizza Night, and Coffee Bagel Donut Day all donated nonperishable food and cash to the Food Bank of Yolo County. A few programs even had their own drives run by grad students. On that front special recognition needs to go out to the Comparative Pathology Department who gathered up four big boxes of food and a nice wad of cash for the food bank. All together the GSA drive collected 273 pounds of food and 113 dollars for the Food Bank. Beyond that effort, in December the COD started work with the UCD-City Liaison Commission to create a list of student friendly businesses in town. Finally, I organized another quarter of Yoga for Grads.

January 2010
This January I set in motion another quarter of the Yoga for Grads class. Hopefully this will be a quarterly event from now on. Also this month I (with the help of the GSA office staff) completed the promotion and signups for the Winter Snowshoe trip. Slots on that trip sold out in just a few hours. Outdoor adventures added an additional two slots so a total of 14 grads will be happily trudging through the Sierra snow in March. Finally, I began work with the UCD-City Liaison Commission to put together a listing of student friendly businesses. That list should be ready in early spring.

From the GSA Bylaws, below is the list of duties for the COD.

Section 3.08 The duties of the Campus Organizing Director shall be:
