How can I resolve a conflict with someone on campus?
However much we wish that graduate school was a uniformly positive and fulfilling experience, the truth is that it can often be frustrating and sometimes unfair. Conflicts can arise.
It is to the benefit of the graduate student to try to work out problems at the level they occur. Try if you can not to let disagreements with others escalate into outright hostility.
However, when students feel that they have exhausted all reasonable avenues, they may want to pursue third party mediation or lodging a grievance. The GSA can help students who have come to this juncture.
If you are having problems with other students, faculty, your department or administrators, and need assistance, please contact the GSA Vice Chair at <gsavicechair AT ucdavis DOT edu>
