Since most of us earn something just north of the federal poverty level, grads are often in the hunt for a good deal. When the GSA gets wind of an offer that grads might appreciate we'll be posting them here. But hey, this is a wiki right. So feel free to post great deals that you've stumbled across as well. But please don't try to sell us your nasty old couch.

Microsoft is offering an upgrade from Vista to its new OS, Windows 7, to anyone with a .edu email address for a measly $29.99. You can get the Home Premium or the Professional versions in both 32 bit and 64 bit. If you don't know what version is right for you, try this page
http://windows.microsoft.com/upgrade. The webite for the offer is
http://www.win741.com/ (This may seem like a made-up, this-is-clearly-a-scam URL but it is supposed to be a play on Windows 7 for one person. It is a real Microsoft deal.) Also the folks over at Download Squad have
instructions for turning your download into a bootable DVD.

Microsoft is offering a similar deal on Office 2007. Anyone with a .edu email can get Office 2007 Ultimate (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook, Publisher, OneNote and a few more I'd never heard of) for just $59.99. The best price I'd ever seen for the Student and Teacher edition (which only has Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote) was around $70. That deal is located here
