2010-02-10 16:53:56   Thorough session of some of the basics. Would have liked to get information on filing estimated taxes. —69.62.197.73

2010-02-10 21:00:57   I was very greatful for this event, but really felt that it didn't cover any necessary information. I kind of felt like it was an advertisement to get us to use his tax service rather than provide helpful information. —68.122.191.94

2010-02-12 09:59:34   I really appreciate that this event was held. However, I did think it became too much of a plug for his tax services. I think it would be more helpful to have someone briefly go through a basic 1040 and touch on the lines that generally effect grad students, and to do the same for the state tax return. Although I was glad he answered individual questions, perhaps having people save them for a second half of the presentation might be a good idea. That way, he could cover the basics before we get into the more specific questions people have that may be unique to their situation. —67.161.161.28

2010-02-15 11:05:13   I came in with no knowledge about how to file taxes and didn't get much out of it. I didn't, and still don't, know which forms I have to fill out. Perhaps in the future the session description should indicate that one should have some basic knowledge beforehand. Alternatively, the talk could be more introductory. —76.215.210.167

2010-02-18 12:39:53   I really appreciated that he could keep a sense of humor while dealing with something as mundane as taxes. With all of the Q&A throughout the session, I felt like all of the basics were covered, which is what I went in expecting from a free info session. I normally file my own taxes, but had some really complex things this year and decided after attending the session to make an appointment with Mr. Fischer. He got me in really quickly, and the process was painless. —StaceyEllis

2010-02-20 12:24:25   I really appreciated going through the tax forms, specifically the 1090T, 1040EZ and W-2. To follow up on the session, I would have liked to see a posting on gsa webpage of the presentation (or a summary of it), and a filled out sample of tax forms that pertain the most to grad students. —75.101.64.10
