Dear UC Davis Graduate Students:
The Joint ASUCD-UCD GSA Housing Task-force is drafting our policy report which will contain sections on the historical background of housing at UC Davis, as well as current constraints, and criteria for solutions in the housing crisis. Topics we will be addressing in the report will include: Orchard Park & Solano Park Redevelopment; West Village, along with the history of public-private partnerships (P3) on campus; alternatives to P3 re/development project delivery; Bodega Bay & satellite campuses; the Long-range Development Plan (LRDP); alternative housing types, and development locations; and, Davis city policies, Measure J/R, and the political climate on housing issues in Davis.
Do not hesitate to contact any of the task-force members (see contact info below) if you would like information on the work we are doing and/or our findings. Also, please feel free to share any of your experiences, needs, and concerns regarding the housing crisis in Davis that may strengthen our report.
Secretary, Graduate Student Association, UC Davis
Graduate Student, Department of Music, UC Davis
PS – The next Orchard Park Redevelopment PAC meeting is March 22nd from 3:30-5:00 in room 173 Student Housing. Given the response to Nathan Hanford’s resolution proposal on this topic, I imagine some of you may want to attend the meeting.
