3. Volunteer opportunities for GAAAP Diversity Pathway to Graduate School Conference

On behalf of GAAAP, you are invited to participate in our 3rd annual Diversity Pathway to Graduate School Conference hosted on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10-4pm at the Student Community Center (Meeting Room D, 2nd Floor). The purpose of the conference is to provide UC Davis students with information and resources related to pursuing a graduate degree and to help students connect with current and past graduate scholars. During the conference, GAAAP would like to host workshops on the topic of:

  • Personal Statements
  • Statements of Purpose
  • Obtaining Letters of Recommendation
  • Admission Tests
  • Research
  • Funding Your Graduate Education

In addition to the workshops, we will also be hosting a Graduate Student Panel to allow undergraduate students the opportunity to ask graduate students questions relating to their graduate school experience. And lastly, there will be a Networking Session where graduate scholars and undergraduate students can connect on a more personal level over lunch.

If you would like to be a guest for the Graduate Student Panel and Networking Session, please let us know by September 24th, 2017 by filling out the Networking/Graduate Student Panel Interest Form which can be found here. If you are interested in hosting a workshop on any of the topics, please let us know which topic you would like to present by filling out our Workshop Preference Form which is also linked here. GAAAP would greatly appreciate your assistance and participation in order to make this event possible.

4. Stop Light Mixer with Vet Med

The Class of 2019 at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine invite you to attend a Back to School Stop Light Mixer at Blondie’s Davis on Friday, September 29th from 7pm – 11pm!

If you are unfamiliar with how a Stop Light Mixer works:
You wear whatever color you identify as while attending the mixer.

– Red means you’re in a relationship and just there have a good time,
– Yellow means you are unsure what your relationship status is but you’re still there to have a good time,
– Green means you are single and ready to mingle!

We are inviting the other Graduate programs at UC Davis, so come by and enjoy getting to know new people while supporting the veterinary school!

15% of food sales from 7-9pm from Cilantro’s Mexican Restaurant and 15% of drink sales from 7-11pm from Blondie’s will go to support the Class of 2019.

There is no cover with a Davis ID and the event is 21+ after 9:30 pm.
